Preserving Udvada

After visiting Udvada a number of times I have come to the conclusion that the entire "Parsi neighborhood,” including the Iranshah Atash Behram should be declared a UNESCO world heritage site. The umbrella of UNESCO is important for preserving our religious sites, homes, culture, customs, etc and preventing vandalism and extinction. Every year I notice that the non-Parsi boundary is getting closer to ours. Also, most able youngsters do not opt to live in Udvada, which is one more reason why an international body such as UNESCO is given a chance to preserve our own heritage which will soon become extinct.                               ISPHANYAR BHANDARA Rawalpindi, Pakistan imbhandara@gmail.com ...
