The hills are alive

A colorfully lit dance floor created to accommodate 200 guests welcomed the members and guests at the Lonavala Khandala Parsi Zarthushti Anjuman’s (LKPZA) annual get-together on February 4, 2023. Held in the compound of the Cowasjee Dinshaw Adenwalla Daremeher after a gap of three years due to the pandemic, the venue was "very well decorated.” Banners in the compound displayed the names of donors. A note on the event was received from the office of LKPZA trustee Capt Percy Master.
The event started with one free housie round for all guests with attractive cash prizes. Master welcomed all present and thanked them for their continued support for this annual event. A minute’s silence was observed and prayers were conducted in memory of Nargish Balaporia, senior trustee and vice president who passed away during the pandemic.

Panthaky Ervad Zareer Tata and his family were honored and recognized for looking after the agiary. Rashida Shroff was commended for her back office work throughout the year.
Master listed financial assistance provided to other institutions like SAMVAD (Support Advocacy and Mental Health Intervention for Children in Vulnerable Circumstances and Distress) India Foundation, National Association for the Blind’s home and the animal shelter of In Defense of Animals. He also informed guests that financial assistance was given throughout the year for education of the bungalow owners’ house help and gardeners, specially the girl child. "All this funding was possible due to the generous contribution from donors,” he appreciated.
"Thereafter Brynhild and her band took over and entertained the guests with lively foot tapping music which continued till 11 p.m. This, combined with cocktails and a sumptuous dinner, made the function a huge success,” noted Master.                                                 F. J.
