Retired scientist Adi Mountvala’s first exhibition of paintings reflects his lifelong interest in art

What makes a person who has a postgraduation degree from the University of California, Berkeley, who has spent his entire working life in the field of scientific research and development, turn to art post-retirement? But then, art has always been a passion for Adi Mountvala whose paintings were exhibited at the Jehangir Art Gallery from November 29 to December 4, 2022. His family were among the top designers of jewelry in Bombay until the early 1990s.  Even during his extremely arduous and time-consuming professional life, he never lost interest in art.
