TALATI Edited by Sherene Vakil Clarification In our Editorial Viewpoint column "Taking the lead” (Parsiana, July 21-August 6, 2022), we had made some critical comments on the hosting of the 10th World Zoroastrian Congress in Bombay in 2013. Maneck Davar, honorary secretary, stated that the change of venue from The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) at Nariman Point to the National Sports Club of India (NSCI) complex at Worli was not due to "ego tussles” at the NCPA as alleged but because the NSCI could accommodate more delegates. The complex is not only meant as a sports venue but also a conference/convention center, stated Davar. He noted the President of India, who did not normally grace community functions, reportedly made an exception for the Congress. Davar disputed the charge that the organization of the Congress was "somewhat chaotic.” ...
