“Anchor, not adversary”

In "Anchor, not adversary” (Parsiana, September 7-20, 2025), about the dwindling usage of Parsi Gujarati, I feel that the wheels of progress are often in conflict with the preservation of tradition. Several centuries ago the community began to drift towards Gujarati and forgot Farsi. Today we have drifted into English, forgetting Gujarati. In the Zoroastrians Abroad column of the same issue I read "Accused and arrested” about a Delta airlines pilot being apprehended on charges of child sexual abuse. Thank you for boldly sharing the bad and ugly face of the community alongside the good that we flaunt with pride. It is a sad story and certainly adds pause to our "self-adoration.” I have great respect for your honest and excellent journalism.                                                        YEZDYAR KAOOSJI California, USA yezdyk@gmail.com ...
