When dentist Dr Arnavaz Havewala (pictured) passed away on May 9, 2019 as a result of an elevator mishap at the Bhau Daji Lad (BDL) Museum (see "Dentist’s demise,” Events and Personalities, Parsiana, May 21- June 6, 2019), Bombay mayor Vishwanath 
Mahadeshwar had ordered a high level probe into the incident. Six months after the accident, her daughter Hera, a dentistry student who was also hurt in the mishap, is still waiting for compensation, reported the MumbaiMirror (MM) on November 16. Arnavaz had reportedly suffered a pelvic fracture as a result of the mishap when she and Hera were in the Museum’s lift. Both were admitted to the intensive care unit of Masina Hospital. While Hera was discharged after a few days, Arnavaz suffered a cardiac arrest on May 9 after being shifted to the ward, the report stated.
The Museum’s management is yet to respond to Hera’s repeated follow-ups, stated the daily. "The Museum’s management was avoiding her calls and even refusing to meet her,” stated MM. "We want to ensure that such incidents are not repeated. The Bombay Municipal Corporation had called us and taken our statement, but there is no clarity on the probe report… We have not even been told if the inquiry is completed,” Hera told MM.
BDL managing trustee Tasneem Mehta told MM that their management had paid "all the hospital bills… Now it is up to the municipal commissioner to decide on the compensation… The BDL Museum doesn’t even have money to pay compensation.” Municipal commissioner Pravin Pardeshi was quoted in the report as stating that he would "call for the inquiry report and get to the bottom of this. Such a kind of lift should not have been put in the Museum by the contractor.”
