When the G. D. Anklesaria Rotary Hall in Ratlam completed 50 years of existence, the Rotary Club of Ratlam, established in 1945 and among less than one percent of Rotary Clubs worldwide to own a Rotary Hall of its own, had reason to celebrate. To commemorate the occasion, past district governor Tehmton Anklesaria gifted a new dialysis machine at the G. D. Anklesaria Rotary Dialysis Center while the G. D. Anklesaria Rotary Hall Trust and the Ratlam Club renovated the pediatric ICU (intensive care unit) at the Bal Chikitsalay, reveals an email sent to Parsiana by Gustad Anklesaria.
At the celebratory function held on September 2, 2012, dignitaries lit the lamp and chief guest Kalyan Banerjee, immediate past Rotary International president garlanded the portraits of Gustadji and Freny Anklesaria as a tribute to the visionaries and major donors for Ratlam’s Rotary Hall. Chairman of the golden jubilee celebrations Sharad Phatak spoke of the social relevance of the Hall and read out a congratulatory certificate received from Sakuji Tanaka, president of Rotary International 2012-13 for Tehmton, on his 50th anniversary as a Rotarian. In his response Tehmton recalled his induction into the Rotary Club of Ratlam on August 15, 1962, and spoke about his involvement in the Club’s many pioneering projects which had enriched him and given him an opportunity to touch the hearts and lives of millions of beneficiaries, the write-up mentions.
A special edition of the Club’s magazine Sevanjali was brought out on the occasion. The meeting was called to order by sergeant-at-arms Ashish Jain, the Rotary prayer was recited by Sohrab Anklesaria, the four-way test read out by Mukesh Jain, Gustad Anklesaria introduced the chief guest and Ashok Tanted proposed the vote of thanks.
