Navsari rains

"Mercifully, the floods have not caused much damage (to community property) either at Navsari or in the adjoining villages,” World Zoroastrian Organisation (WZO) Trusts chairman Dinshaw Tamboly told Parsiana. Heavy rains pounding several parts of Gujarat and  some rivers in Navsari district in spate have led to floods and evacuations. "We have extended support to the general public affected by the floods by contributing Rs 75,000 for distribution of food packets… We have provided assistance to three members of the general public totally amounting to Rs 35,000 for damage caused by the floods to the shanties in which they were residing… All in a day’s work,” he added. Tamboly shared pictures of flooding around the Parsi Infirmary with Parsiana and added that "as is done every year, the residents on the ground floor were shifted to the first floor as soon as the rain started coming down in torrents.”  Surat resident Cyrus Dotivala informed Parsiana: "All are safe.
