Bajan commended Kotwal’s attempt to revive the tradition of Parsi songs. Monajats and garbas used to be sung and even the Shahnameh was recited by the Parsis of yore, he said, adding that Zoroastrian prayers are to be sung and chanted aloud so that they create vibrations and form a circuit around the person who is praying.
Kotwal thanked the trustees of the Sir Jamsetji Jejeebhoy Parsee Benevolent Institution for permitting the use of its premises free of charge and Dinshaw Tamboly, managing trustee of the World Zoroastrian Organisation Trust for his support without which the project would not have been possible. The function ended with snacks catered by Kersi Gazder of Grub Corner, the write-up concludes.
