When Sonia Daryanani’s (pictured) Parsi mother told her about the strays that frequent the Doongerwadi precincts, the animal lover added the venue to the list of places she visits. The Cathedral and John Connon School alumna, who studied at the New England Culinary Institute, prepares the animal food at home and, after completing her catering orders for desserts and cakes, ventures out to several destinations in and around the area to feed the animals.
At Doongerwadi she started with dogs but the cats soon joined in as well, so she added them to the list of deserving four footers. She noted the canines had been sterilized/neutered since they had been forming into packs and could have turned aggressive
