Berjis Desai’s new column "Navsari tales” evokes nostalgia for a way of Parsi life (from 1880 to 1980) that has been irretrievably lost. The stories of the glory days of that city, laced with both humor and pathos, have been slightly fictionalized. Hirabai’s house had no door.
