For his "outstanding contribution to India-UK relationship development and to global travel” Zubin Karkaria (pictured r), founder and chief executive officer of VFS Global received the Global Game Changers Award at the Indian Awards 2019 on May 29, 2019 from Patricia Scotland (pictured l),  secretary general of the Commonwealth, held at the British Houses of Parliament complex in London. The Indian Awards are organized by the India Business Group, an advisory consultancy working in the area of developing bilateral trade between the UK, the EU and Indian markets. Previous recipients of the Award — now in its third year — have been UK Prime Minister David Cameron and film director Gurinder Chadha, OBE. VFS Global, the outsourcing and technology services specialists for worldwide governments, has processed over 24 million visas in the 16 years since they started working with the UK government. The company serves the UK government in 134 cities in 57 countries through 136 application centers. Karkaria is believed to have "changed the face of visa services” by introducing the concept of outsourced visa processing – an unheard of idea at the time (2001), notes a press release from the company dated May 30. ...
