"Every piece told a story and every brush stroke symbolized the freedom of creativity” at the art, handwork and library exhibition of The Alexandra Girls’ English Institution on April 30, 2025. The works of talented students, staff members and ex-students were on display, curated by art teachers Hemal Ved and Parwana Hussain along with librarian Vaishali Volavikar, notes a write-up sent to Parsiana by principal Kashmira Sarkari.
Art works by students of The Alexandra Girls’ English Institution
Forms of folk art were featured along with different techniques of painting such as stippling, zentangle, comic script, pictorial and agamographic art (which creates an optical illusion when viewed from different angles). Embroidery work, including cross stitch, created by the students was also on display as was the vast collection of books from the library and projects done by the eco club. A selfie corner was created with a splash of color falling on the children, mentions the write-up.
Visitors to the exhibition included the board of directors as well as principals of other schools, along with their art teachers and students. S. V.
