"Prophets are messengers of God and bring us this manual (of life) in the form of religion, which most of us do not know and very few understand. We make a mess of life with endless meaningless pursuits, ending up with failing health and mental stress… If only we had taken out time to understand this manual… [Ervad (Dr) Ramiyar] Karanjia has written this book to create love and understanding of our Prophet and our religion,” noted Kersi Limathwalla, chairman of the M. J. Wadia Fire Temple Trust. He was releasing the book My Prophet Asho Zarathushtra Spitama by Karanjia, principal of the Dadar Athornan Institute, at a function to celebrate Khordad Saal at the Lalbaug agiary on August 23, 2012.
Exhorting those present to make religion a way of life, Limathwalla observed that it is "not a part-time pastime, but a full time awareness of truth,” mentions a write-up received from the Trust.
Elaborating on the theme, Limathwalla explained that we need to go through a manual before we operate any equipment, whether an oven, television set or music system so that we do not damage it. But we go through life without knowing or understanding the manual of life.
Thanking Limathwalla for the opportunity to release his book on such an auspicious day, the birthday of the Prophet, Karanjia expressed, "Our bonding starts with our navjote, when we hold our Prophet’s hand and walk through life and this bond should last till our last day. Be respectful of all religions but love and pray your own religion.”
Trustee Shirin Wadia garlanded Karanjia and devotional monajats were recited, the write-up mentions. At the function which began with a jashan, religion teacher Roxane Desai said, "Our beloved Prophet was born on this day, so we mortals on earth should put our hands, hearts and heads together to celebrate this day in a more pensive way.”
