Tashan’s talent awarded

"Mad Sisters of Esi (her second book) is a wild and strange novel that is wholly itself, often contrary to good advice, so I am especially grateful to see it recognized, loved, and fought for,” author Tashan Mehta told Parsiana on receiving the AutHer Award for Best Fiction on March 17, 2024 at the Taj Palace at New Delhi. "It is such an honor to win the Award which champions women authors,” she said the next day.

The social media page of the Women AutHer Awards said the book, a "delightful work of fantasy, beautifully intertwines fables, dreams and myths, showcasing the talent of this acclaimed author…  At its core, it asks ‘In the devastating chaos of this world, where all is in flux and the truth ever-changing, what will you choose to hold on to?’”
The AutHer Awards are presented by paper manufacturer J. K. Paper and The Times of India to "celebrate the contributions of women authors who have, despite all the biases, added value and creativity to this space. We wish to acknowledge and award such women authors,” states their website.
Mehta’s debut novel, The Liar’s Weave was in the genre of magic realism (see "Cosmic conundrum,” Parsiana, Books, November 21-December 6, 2019).
