The apparent objective of carrying the article "A mystic view” (Parsiana, March 7, 2017) seems to be an exploration into the relevance of Ilm-e-Khshnoom "in the so-called bad times the Parsi community is undergoing at present.”
The relevance of Khshnoom today, to put it bluntly, is zero! More bluntly, it was never relevant, being a pseudo-religious attempt by a few sincere people, with a following of self-seekers, feeding the opium of religion. Latter day successors like WAPIZ (World Alliance of Parsi Irani Zarthoshtis) denying the truth of our falling numbers, showed a similar zeal in much mumbo-jumbo of irrelevance like rituals and dakhmas with the result that we are agonized in every manner by lackluster, wishy-washy leaders who missed the wood for the trees.
Dr Cawas P. Gotlaseth, Dr Framroze Chiniwala and Sorabji Dhanjishah Nirumwala fed a generation with spiritual hogwash, full of dreams but no real vision, full of mythical erroneous beliefs. Their abstruse, mystical utterances misguided a gullible generation with the promise of a wonderful renaissance.
In a letter written by Faribourz Nariman ("Traitors to their teachers,” Readers’ Forum, Parsiana, November 21, 2012), in connection with his article under the same title (Parsiana, August 7, 2012) he clarified he had penned the piece "to expose the sophistry of some present-day scholars who call themselves ‘Khshnoomists’ and whose speeches/writings come perilously close to rant…”
