"As a trustee, Cama was a part of the team that initiated the merit awards and scholarships program in 1982 …which continues till date,” stated the scroll of honor presented to him. During his stint as secretary and later president Cama and his board were instrumental in the construction of the dakhma bungli, renovation of their Bai Dhunbaiji Dadabhai Bhimji Umrigar Agiary, construction of a new building for residences and the renovation of their dharamshala building. "The hallmark of Cama was his strong and dedicated effort to give medical and financial aid to the needy humdins from the Panchayat funds.” Former president of the Panchayat Jal Patel, and community members Dr Minoo Patel, Cyrus Bhesania, Meher Ginwalla and Dilnaz Homawala expressed their deep appreciation for the services rendered by Cama.
Cama told Parsiana on March 3 that he was involved in community service even before he formally served the anjuman, as pallbearer for community members. He was modestly reticent about saying more.
Parabia and Bhesania were presented a garland, shawl and memento each.
The Panchayat distributed 37 awards and scholarships to deserving students in various fields. This year Kaizad Engineer was given a special award for his academic and professional excellence in the field of remedial engineering of heritage structures and in recognition for the honorary services rendered to the Panchayat, stated Homi Patel.
The event was compered by trustee Lt Col Adi Chinoy while trustee Aspi Vajifdar gave the vote of thanks.
