Dr Cyres Mehta received the award for the Most Promising Eye Clinic in Mumbai at the hands of international chess champion Vishwanathan Anand on May 31, 2014 at the Hotel Ramada in Powai. It was one of the awards presented in the Healthcare Excellence category by Brands Academy, which also has awards for excellence in a number of other categories. An email received from Ashish Parekh mentions that when Amol Monga, managing director of Brands Academy visited Mehta’s International Eye Centre he said he was "shocked that the chief surgeon… has achieved so many international awards… at such a young age of 43.”
Using the best technology and achieving excellent results from an early age, Mehta was trained by Prof Howard Fine, the pioneer of clear corneal phaco cataract surgery, at his world renowned Oregon Eye Centre in the USA in 2000-2001.
