Roshan Lentin, my mother, was born on September 26, 1938 to Bachan and Rustom Allbless. Her great-grandfather Hormasji Allbless built the iconic Allbless Baug in memory of his father, Eduljee Framji Allbless, a prominent businessman known for his philanthropy. He founded his business, Eduljee Framji and Sons, in China.

My mother studied in London and was teacher for the most part of her life. She was a good badminton player and would cycle with her younger brother. She was an energetic, fun-loving person always game for a good time. No invitation to lunch or dinner could be ignored. She loved to visit clubs regularly and on Sundays would dress up for a day at the races with my father.
But there was another side to her: she was ever ready to help others. Generous and philanthropic at heart, no plea for help or call for assistance was too insignificant for her. She was charitable but never broadcast it, often being generous to a fault.
She kept in touch with family and friends wherever they were in the world. Whether in her business or personal life, she left an indelible mark. She touched many people during her life and always left a pleasant memory. My mother will not only be missed immensely by me, but also by her family and friends.
