Assisting sister communities

After successful visits to the Nariman Home (Infirmary) to cheer the senior citizens there, the Zoroastrian Women’s Assembly of Surat (ZWAS) has reached out to the aged of other communities as well. They teamed with the staff of Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE) to visit Matoshri Vruddhashram in the Adajan area of the city on March 29, 2024, and Ashra, old age home in the City Light area on April 20. Remembering that "the most valuable gift that you can give to someone is your time,” the team participated in housie and musical games with the seniors. As always, the "real fun was the Antakshari (song building game) with old retro tunes. It was so satisfying to see some couples happy as they must have remembered their good old days while singing the duets,” stated a note from member Nilufer Bavaadam forwarded by secretary Daizy Patel. Food packets were distributed by the ZWAS team and food grains and cooking oil by the TCE staff. The note stated that the members of ZWAS believe that "years may wrinkle the skin, but giving up the hope of living happily, wrinkles the soul.”
