In the write-up covering my talk at The K. R. Cama Oriental Institute ("Yankee Doodle Parsis,” Events and Personalities, Parsiana, May 21, 2018) there is reference to the moon shawl (pictured) gifted by Nusserwanji Maneckji Wadia (pictured) to a Capt George Nichols.
The moon shawl is cashmere. The "beautiful fine muslin” was bought by Nichols for five dollars for his wife-to-be’s wedding dress.
