Prudent Murree

Recently I came across a copy of The Economist (TE) (from UK) with regard to a new development in connection with the liquor of the Murree Brewery (MB) Company Limited of Pakistan.
Parsiana had given an extensive coverage to "Murree and Minority matters” with a cover story highlighting Isphanyar Bhandara (July 21, 2015).
The article mentioned that Bhandara is the largest shareholder with a 14.2% holding, and was quoted as saying: "We cannot advertise or market alcoholic products.” The reason is obvious, being an Islamic country, restrictions and controls exist.
MB branched off into "Tops foods and beverages” "Murree Glass,” and "Murree Sparkletts” several years ago. To quote Bhandara, under the present prohibition law only foreigners and non-Muslims, or roughly five percent who constitute the minorities, are allowed to consume alcohol.” In 2016 the Sindh High Court temporarily banned all alcohol sales in the southern province. Tax is still pending. The diversification into first juice business, along with sauces and vinegars, as also manufacturing quality glass containers and the drinking water industry was a step taken in good time, and very prudently too.
As China draws closer to Pakistan, an influx of Chinese into Pakistan has taken place. As a result there is Chinese demand for Murree beer.
May I have a sip of Murree beer?
