Properties neglected

There are a number of institutions, hospitals, colleges, schools, infirmaries, old age homes and orphanages established by our ancestors almost a decade ago with the objective that following generations will reap benefits. But a handful of people, calling themselves trustees of such establishments have miserably failed in managing such institutions. As a result, properties worth crores of rupees have either become dilapidated or are encroached upon by antisocial elements, under the watch of the trustees. There are instances of valuable buildings decaying. Under the pretext of dilapidation or disuse, schemes are prepared for disposal, reportedly with the connivance of the Charity Commissioner. The price on the sale deed is shown less than the market rate.  As a result, the community loses the benefit behind such establishments, causing frustration and anguish to our young. Besides, I feel that we must distract our young generation from laptops, mobiles, westernized culture and parlor games and divert them to sports and games as the government is giving sports encouragement nowadays. It is painful to note that our Parsi boys have lost their good, sound physique due to drugs, liquor and an indisciplined lifestyle.
