Bengallee alumni association

The Bai B. S. Bengallee Girls’ High School (BS) kick-started an alumni association on February 10, 2024 with around 300 ex-students in attendance at the introductory meeting. Fond memories were shared and the exchanges did not stop even when some ex-students rose to speak. Ice breakers, music, a selfie corner and a video of past photographs strung together by teachers were the highlights of the evening. Kersi Commissariat, president of The Parsee Girls’ School Association (PGSA) that runs BS, told Parsiana that he was overwhelmed by the response to the efforts of principal Madhura Khanolkar and her staff reaching out to alumni via word of mouth, phone calls and WhatsApp groups.

Earlier, on January 13, "illustrious alumna” of BS, Hemali Vyas (née Damani) visited them, noted a communication from the administration head of PGSA, Jimmy Guard. From the class of 1983-84, Vyas was part of the tracking services that National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)/Jet Propulsion Laboratory provided for the union government’s Chandrayaan mission. Vyas has been associated with the Startup Advisor and Mentor Accelerator Programs of NASA since September 2019. She expressed warm sentiments about her school years, especially for then principal the late Zenobia Daroga. She said, "There was a benign kind of discipline.” She commended the science teachers. Light entertainment by the students followed.
