“Serving the family”

"We are delighted that Pearl Mistry’s dedication has been recognized. She has supported our patients through their health issues and medical treatment for years. They have always been grateful for her affectionate support,” noted Dr Shernaz Cama, director of Jiyo Parsi (JP).
Mistry’s efforts to increase the minority Parsi community population through the JP initiative were lauded by the National Commission for Minorities (NCM) of the Government of India on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2021.
Recognized for "rising above different situations professionally and personally and in their own way setting examples for other women by serving the family, the community and in turn the nation,” the award consisted a memento and a shawl. Women from other minority communities who were also felicitated were Khusboo Jain, Nasreen Sheikh, Sanghamitra Chowdhary, Harleen Parmar, Neelam Dey, Neelam Jain and Ayesha Khatun.

Joining JP in its nascent stage in mid-2014, Mistry’s main focus while counseling infertile couples is on "instilling hope, marital harmony and clearing misconceptions… Mind-body connection, visualization techniques and adopting a healthy lifestyle are some other topics that are talked about,” mentioned Mistry in her response to Parsiana’s queries.
Her personal experience with JP she stated has been an "amazing journey.” The most rewarding aspect for the counselor has been "witnessing the joy and satisfaction in the applicants’ eyes who had been hoping to become parents since a long time. No award or reward can measure up to the sense of immense happiness I experience each time the young couples meet me with their long awaited bundle of joy,” states Mistry, herself a mother of three.
Huzan and Neveille Wadia, recipients of JP’s assistance, said they were "overjoyed with the bundle of joy we have in our lives. Zeus is a year old now… We will never forget the great experience we had with Mistry. She helped us overcome every hurdle with ease… Jiyo Parsi is nothing but happiness and abundance.”
