Poonawalla’s project

Adar Poonawalla, chief executive officer of Serum Institute of India has, as part of the company’s CSR (corporate social responsibility) program, teamed up with fashion designer and Bharatiya Janata Party spokeswoman Shaina NC to improve the lot of policemen. Their joint initiative will be to install changing and rest rooms as well as toilets at 10 locations in Bombay. The project was inaugurated by Maharashtra’s chief minister Devendra Fadnavis at the Police Commissioner’s office at Crawford Market on September 1, 2016, note The Economic Times and Mid-Day in their issues of September 2, 2016.      (L-R): Devendra Fadnavis, Datta Padsalgikar, Adar Poonawalla, Shaina NC and Raveena Tandon     The collaboration between Poonawalla’s Rs 100 crore "Clean City” scheme and Shaina NC’s "I Love Mumbai” is supported by police commissioner Datta Padsalgikar, deputy general of police Satish Mathur, actors Sonali Bendre and Rishi Kapoor who were all present at the inauguration. Decent housing for policemen, who now live in cramped quarters, is next on their wish list. The project also plans to extend similar facilities to railway employees. ...
