Greening with frangipani

Children of community members in Nagpur, Rotarians and their families, and 15 college students from Sadabai Raisoni College were among those who participated in the greening of the Nagpur Parsi Aramgah on July 17, 2017. Fifty champa (frangipani) saplings sponsored by Rotarian Khushnoor Chugh, were planted in the joint initiative between the Nagpur Parsi Punchayet (NPP), which maintains the cemetery, and the Rotary Club of Nagpur, according to a communication from NPP secretary Shiraz Gimi. Rotarian Dr Jeresteen Watchmaker, past Rotarian president Tauby Bhagwagar, Chugh and Gimi were present. Rotarians Cyrus Watchmaker and Jehangir Doongaji then took everyone around the Aramgah, and explained little known facts about the cemetery and Parsi rituals and customs.
