I liked your editorial viewpoint "Clashes over the clergy” (Parsiana, December 7, 2016), especially the last paragraph where you say "common sense would dictate...”
Unfortunately, common sense is in rather short supply with Zoroastrians (in India). But all is not doom and gloom. I was glad to read what Berjis Desai had to say ("Bawas don’t seem to die,” Bawa Musings) in the same issue, that there are plenty of Parsis who would like to/could have a roll in the hay at any age!
I do not understand how Parsinomics works: if we have huge charities that were enough for over 1,00,000 Parsis, surely we should have enough when there are only 50,000 or so Parsis left, to ensure that no one needs to be old and alone or needs to drink cough syrup instead of whiskey. CYRUS KHARAS
