Taronish Irani, a trainee teacher and Zubin Mehta, a lawyer were married in Jaipur on October 24, 2016. Zubin’s grandparents had relocated to Jaipur in 1951. According to Kersi, the groom’s father, the Mehtas are one of four families who permanently reside in that city. Kersi estimates that of the 500 guests, 150 were Parsi. "I think it (was) the first time Jaipur saw so many bawas,” according to Tanaz Patel, a cousin of Zubin’s.
