Milestones

Published in this Milestones column are details of births, marriages and deaths that took place in September 2007. The age of Zoroastrian brides (as listed in this issue) ranged between 28 and 38 years, the arithmetic mean (the total number of individual ages divided by the total number of brides) being 33 years. The corresponding   figures for the grooms were 25 and 37 years, averaging at 31 years. September saw 16 Zoroastrian babies being born (as per the data from two south Bombay hospitals) — a very heartening figure, whereas 74 bodies were consigned to Bombay’s Towers of Silence.
