Parsiana, June 21, 2017 features a beautiful In Memoriam write-up ("Command of chemistry”) on Dr Zarin Turel, internationally reputed scientist of Bombay who passed away on April 20, 2017 in Lucknow. She was my cousin. The whole family was indeed extremely proud of her achievements. In spite of her busy schedule she would always stay connected with the family. She was a wonderful mother too.
Turel was down-to-earth, humble and took her various medals and awards lightly. Of course science was her passion. I remember very well when years ago she asked my husband, a doctor, what our children would take up after finishing their schooling. Undoubtedly she was upset when told that science was not their choice! NERGISH DORDI
