“Getting to know ourselves”

Thank you for carrying an encouraging piece to introduce our four-volume series on Parsis of India, ("Getting to know ourselves,” Editorial Viewpoint, Parsiana, March 21, 2017). You have mentioned that the footnotes are few and sources of information difficult to find. We would like to clarify that we have followed Sage’s (the publisher) guidelines which required footnotes to be kept to a minimum, and where needed additional information to be given after each chapter under "Notes.” Hence, there are very few footnotes and after each chapter you can find some information under "Notes.” Additionally, in keeping with the norms of academic publishing, all academic information/data sources are cited within the body of the text as "Author(s) followed by year” (e.g. Kulke 1974) at appropriate places and details of each such source are then listed under "References” contained at the end of each volume. To sum up, information is provided in three ways: as "Footnotes” below a page; as "Notes” placed after chapters; and as "References” listed towards the end of each volume. Drs ARMAITY S.
