Missing at the helm

I have been following the story about the triangular corporate war between Ratan Tata, Cyrus Mistry and Nusli Wadia in the national Press and in emails I receive. It struck me that a group like the Tatas does not have a single Parsi who could have been a successor to Tata. I place the blame for this entirely on our Parsi boys who seem to have become un-ambitious, are not interested in higher studies and have an attitude of  chaalva dévo (let things be). There was a time about 50 years back when the senior managers of Tatas were brilliant Parsi men. In fact, if one visited Bombay House one would find every second person there to be a Parsi. Unfortunately, the case is reversed now. I feel really sad for all our pioneering forefathers who must be unhappy at the state of the community today.                                RODA D. True but we cant just go on blaming our diminishing number aam tau another version would be our cream of boys have all migrated, both the points are valid but its a very sad state of affairs all round all the same!! rodara
