In "Sanctified in Sacramento” (Zoroastrians Abroad, Parsiana, April 21, 2017) there is a detailed coverage of the consecration of the Dar-e-Mehr in California, US that uses natural gas to feed the sacred fire. In the next 20 years or so the National Green Tribunal (NGT) may mandate the following things for India : All conventional firewood crematoria to be electrified. Fire-temples to use gas fire. Street lights to be solarized. Steam locomotives to be phased out. All chulahs (hearths) to be gas-fired, or solarized. The move, at present, to grow bawal trees is laudable, even if it takes 30 or more years to become fit for lumbering. We should be prepared in advance by reading the bold writing on the wall.
