The Dadar Athornan Institute, managed by the Athornan Mandal, trains children of Zoroastrian priestly families for becoming full-fledged priests. Boarding, lodging and education are provided free of cost. Education includes not only mobedi training leading to navar and maratab, but academic education up to SSC at The Dadar Parsee Youths Assembly High School. Basic knowledge about the Zoroastrian religion and Iranian history are also imparted. The Institute has a genial, homely atmosphere where students grow up to be confident, disciplined and self-reliant individuals.
Applications are invited for admission of new students for the academic year starting June 2017 from boys of Std I to III (aged 6-8) belonging to athornan families.
