The World Alliance of Parsi Irani Zarthoshtis (WAPIZ) — and hence its candidate — were irrelevant to the Bombay Parsi Punchayet after the Bombay High Court declared that its trustees had nothing to do with matters of religion, but only with administration of the trust and management of the trust properties. It appears this was not lost upon the voters. Three cheers for our judiciary.
