The purchase of the premises, construction of the Dar-Be-Meher building, and the hall premises was a master stroke played by the Zarathusti women of the greater Sacramento area. hats off to them. Ever since we came to live in Davis, California, we had to drive over 200 miles to San Jose to attend functions and pray at the Dar-Be-Meher located on the road to Mt. Hamilton. It was becoming very strenuous to go and return the same day. Hence, a new Dar-Be-Meher in the Sacramento area will be a great boom to Zarathustis like us. The enthusiasm of the Irani Zarathustis is to be admired. I am confident that it will be they who will carry the message of Zarthos Saheb forward in to the future.

As for the Parsis from India and Pakistan, the first generation of immigrants do take part in religious activities and attend functions, but I am not sure if the fervor for the faith will continue in to the next generation as a good number of their children are married to non-Zoroastrians.
