Fifty-two participants, three adopted pups with four more ongoing, and four foster family registrations marked the pilot event on September 3, 2017 for "Pawportunity,” a project launched by entrepreneur Xenia Master who runs Yiamas: The Experimental Space. The 120 participants interacted with furry animals and purchased treats for them. A donation box for non-governmental organization Welfare of Stray Dogs saw contributions of Rs 6,070 for their project for sterilization of stray canines. In a note received by Parsiana, Master states that "like we search for certain traits in our soul mates, we often times forget we have a list for our ‘furmates’ as well.”
