A two-day seminar examined the Mughal contribution to Indian art and culture

"The history of modern Indian art starts with Mughal art,” according to Dr Som Prakash Verma, retired professor of history at Aligarh Muslim University. "Mughal art, as a new phenomenon,” introduced the management of light and shade to the world of Indian art, he said.
