Over 350 community members witnessed a special screening of Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur, the film tribute to Field Marshal Sam H. F. J. Manekshaw at Surat’s Cinepolis on December 10, 2023. The screening was organized by the Zoroastrian Women’s Assembly of Surat (ZWAS) and paid for by the Surat Parsi Panchayat. ZWAS trustee Maharukh Chichgar told us that it was a good photo opportunity for those who had worn traditional Parsi clothes at the "nearly full house” show!
ZWAS secretary Daizy Patel’s note on the event eulogized the performance of the lead actor. "All hearts, whistles and cheers went out for the stupendously fabulous actor with finesse — the charmer Vicky Kaushal.” For a review of the film (see "Moments with Maneckshaw,” pg 42).
