Lord Ripon being of Britain (a most liberal nation today) surely would have accepted women as members of the club named after him even though his successors persist in gender discrimination (see "The reduction of Ripon,” Parsiana, July 7-20, 2022).
It’s no wonder the chairman of the managing committee of the Club Xerxes Dastur is also a trustee of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet which subscribes to the same archaic, outdated logic. This stalls any and every progress on all fronts in our community.
