The National Commission for Minorities (NCM) has recommended that Bombay University restart its postgraduation and doctoral studies in Avesta and Pahlavi via a distance education scheme, notesd an announcement in the Hindi newspaper Dainik Bhaskar (bhaskarhindi.com). Zoroastrian representative on NCM Kersi Deboo (pictured) told the paper that "Avesta-Pahlavi is similar to Sanskrit…earlier these languages were taught at the University…and now stopped due to paucity of students.” Deboo shared the news item with Parsiana.
