Banker Bharucha tops

The highest earning banker in the country for the financial year ending March 2022 was Kaizad Bharucha, executive director of HDFC Bank, noted Business Standard (August 10), based on a remuneration assessment culled from annual reports of banks. Bharucha received Rs 10.64 crores (USD 1,336,351). This included a Rs 4.36 (USD 547,602) crore performance bonus, stated the financial daily.         Kaizad Bharucha     With the Bank since 1995, the 57-year-old oversees wholesale banking. In his role as executive director, Bharucha also looks after corporate banking, public sector banking capital and commodity markets, financial institutions, custody, and mutual funds among others. He was previously associated with State Bank of India’s Commercial and International Bank where he was responsible for trade finance and corporate banking, notes BS. HDFC Bank was among the first to receive approval from the Reserve Bank of India to set up a private sector bank in 1994. The news report stated that HDFC Bank "increased its wholesale to retail mix to 55% as of March this year, from 45%.”         ...
