I was pleased to read your informative cover story on sculptor Shireen Virjee ("Carving out memories,” Parsiana, May 7-20, 2019). Thank you for publishing articles like this and letting readers know about achievers and illustrious members of our community.
Your article struck a personal chord. Prior to publication, thanks to Parsiana’s research, I discovered that Virjee had sculpted the bust of my grandfather Khan Bahadur Kavasji Jamshedji Petigara that has always been in my home ever since I could remember.
When I received this issue of Parsiana and read the article I was delighted and amused to see the picture of Virjee sculpting Lady Edwina Mountbatten, with my grandfather’s bust looking on from the background!
