A creditable Society

The People’s Co-operative Credit Society Limited of Hyderabad presented a cheque for Rs 72,460 to be distributed among deserving students of Secunderabad’s Bai Ratanbai J. Chenoy Parsi High School at the School’s annual sports day on January 19, 2018. The Society also presented a cheque for Rs 5,000 towards the welfare of teachers, notes their press release. The amounts were presented to School secretary Ashish Chenoy by vice chairman and managing director of the Society, Kerfegar Antia, who also gave away prizes to winners of various events. The School, with student strength of 1,050, is celebrating its centenary year.        Kerfegar Antia (left) presenting cheques to Ashish Chenoy     The press release notes that a large number of Parsi Zoroastrians of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad are members of the Society. Established in 2001 to help senior citizens receive reasonable interest on their deposits, the Society earmarks one percent of its profits towards a common fund, proceeds of which are distributed for education to deserving students, maintenance of leprosy homes, shelter for street children and orphanages. Recently, the Society earmarked Rs 30,000 for the Parsi Infirmary in Navsari, notes the press release.  ...
