"The power of platinum”
Reading the cover story ("The power of platinum,” Parsiana, February 7-20, 2020) reminded me of my visit to the Cooper Corporation in Satara years ago. Farrokh Cooper is 75+, but he is timeless. Well before Indian companies began to adopt quality as a means to facilitate exports, he saw quality as a basic element to be implemented in his factories.
Cooper’s belief in quality came from the need for India to be independent and respected in post-independence times. His singular devotion to being "world class” is amazing, and accounts for his place on the platform for entrepreneurs who have made a difference.
