Dhunjishah (Dhunji) Naterwalla "was instrumental in raising the standard of living for the pallbearers… He was a strong fighter for their rights… They were very poorly paid earlier,” a distraught Chandbibi Zaidi, president of the Mumbai Mazdoor Sabha (MMS) told Parsiana right after his uthamna. The 80-year-old general secretary of the Sabha passed away on September 3, 2022 after a prolonged illness. The MMS has represented the workers and office staff of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) and The B. D. Petit Parsee General Hospital (PGH) for several years in their collective bargaining with the trustees.
