Known as much for her social work and activism as for her sterling business record, 69-year-old Anu Aga was nominated to the Rajya Sabha on April 26, 2012. She retired as chairperson of Thermax Limited in 2004, leaving the engineering solutions providing company in the able hands of her daughter Meher Pudumjee. According to the Poona edition of The Indian Express dated April 27, 2012, Aga is currently chairperson of Teach For India and continues to be on the board of directors of Thermax.
