Another year, another loss

There appears to be no immediate end to the Bombay Parsi Punchayet’s financial straits

The financial position of the once premier Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) trust continues to be gloomy. Their balance sheet for the financial year April 2022 to March 2023 shows a loss of Rs 4.8 crores (USD 574,607). This is the fourth consecutive year the economically bereft trust has shown a deficit. Balance sheets prior to four years are not displayed on their website, bombayparsipunchayet.org.    The loss for 2022-2023, however, is thankfully less than the previous year’s figure of Rs 6.8 crores (USD 814,027). One reason for the improvement is an increase in income by over four crore rupees (USD 479,933)......
