Police Inspector Cyrus Irani’s (pictured) great day of glory came on January 26, 2018 when the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service was conferred on him by the Government of India.
He was inducted in the Maharashtra State Police Service as a direct nominee for the post of Police sub inspector in the year 1993. Whilst training at the Maharashtra Police Academy, Nasik he was sent to Killari village (district Latur) following a massive earthquake there and later to Hingoli district, on bandobast duty to handle the agitation against the change in the name of Marathwada University.
